"Hey Arabella, I was in your last class. I just
wanted to let you know we went on our first weekend cruise together
. We anchored, we had a blast. Thanks for all you taught
me." - Karen Depping
April 2009
We are going to miss being with
you this summer. Jeremy has learned so much and has enjoyed all
his summers at Premier. I'm going to miss my daily trips across the
river and our little chats. I'll send you updates regularly.
Please keep in touch! Give my best to Phillip and tell him Jeremy
is still wearing that hat. Refuses to give it up! He did get a
clip to attach it to his jacket. You can also tell him that, thanks
to him, this is going to be a "very expensive" summer!
Hope to see you soon,
Tricia

Hello Phillip and
Arabella,
Just wanted to
say hello and give you an update - I know its
been a long time.
I ended up buying
a 1980 Cape Dory Intrepid (fin keel) in June
2007. My son and a friend and I sailed
"Rambunctious" down from Cobb Island Maryland on
a beautiful sail (we left at 530am and arrived
in Urbanna at 830pm - we had great wind, good
currents, and a beautiful day). After sailing
out of Urbanna for a while, I wanted to be
closer to the bay so we sailed her to Stingray
Point Marina this past June and have been
sailing out of there since.
I love sailing,
and look forward to "upgrading" to a larger
sailboat with roller furling and wheel sometime
in the future - within 10 years. For now,
Rambunctious is a great boat, in great shape and
I look forward to exploring the bay for years to
come with my family. By the way - my wife
Rhonda loves to sail now too!
Thank you for all
the sailing instruction to me and my boys. I
look forward to stopping by and saying hello
sometime this summer. God Bless!

Quote from Logan Pryor (age 9) at the end of his first
day at Virginia Beach:
Parents: " How was your day ?"
Logan: " PERFECT ! "
From Ray & Karen who did their Basic Keelboat Course
in the Spring.
"We've reached the official end to the sailing season (our
boat is about to be hauled), and I just wanted to drop you a note
to thank you for your excellent instruction last spring. We bought
a Beneteau 35 and sailed it almost every weekend this summer. We
had a very successful year (defined as, we didn't sink the boat,
we didn't sink anyone else's boat, we didn't lose anyone overboard...)
and had a wonderful time. Everyone we sailed with would comment
as to how it looked like we really knew what we were doing ( I guess
we should be offended that they seemed so surprised). We would give
you credit every time. Thanks again...
From Girl Scout Troop 993 after their summer sailing course:
"Thank you so much for helping us complete the requirements
for our interest patches, and also giving us the chance to have
a hands on experience with sailing. We had an awesome time and learning
about and sailing the Optimists, Sunfish, J24 , and the Cal. If
possible, we would have stayed longer and experienced more aspets
of sailing. The three days we had were great!
From Juliet and Robert Thomas who did a Young Sailors course
in summer 2002:
"Dear Arabella, Ryan, Andy & Henry, we loved sailing
camp! Robert Thomas says "I loved to capsize. I liked to jump
out of the boat" Juliet says "We had fun capsizing and
looking in the bigger sailboat. Thanks so much!"
This letter was from one of our younger pupils and the
words read:
"Dear Arabella. We loved sailing camp. Actually it
was the Best thing we ever Did. YOU'RE THE BEST teacher we ever
had."
Dear Arabella and Phil,
I'm writing to wish you both a Merry Christmas and a prosperous
New Year.
The two courses I completed at your school this year helped me tremendously
in developing confidence in my ability to sail and in enjoying my
boat. Please keep me in mind for a Bareboat Cruising Course next
year. Please pass along my greetings to members of your highly professional
staff.
Cheers, Donald A
