Our Instructors

Joe teaches US Sailing Keelboat courses and has been instructing with us for many years. Joe has previously lived and worked in many different countries around the world, and every winter takes his boat down to Florida in search of adventure and to escape the misery of winter in Virginia

Cal is a Keelboat instructor with many years of teaching and sailing experience. He teaches US Sailing Keelboat courses and is an expert on marine electronics.

Bill , with years of intrepid cruising under his belt, has endless sailing stories to tell! He cruises his own Tartan 37 and also delivers boats up and down the coast. He teaches Keelboat courses.

Eileen teaches Keelboat courses. A musician and a teacher as well as a sailor, Eileen brings her innovative teaching skills to the waterfront and to you. Her love of sailing and the water permeates her classes.

Ed owns and cruises a lovely Catamaran with his wife. He brings his offshore experience to our Keelboat courses.

Rob is a highly experienced boat builder, racing sailor and cruising sailor. He grew up working on boats and sailing and owned and operated his own boat yard for many years so there is very little that Rob does not know about boats. He teaches Keelboat courses.


Young Sailors Instructors

Irvington Location

Caitie (Senior Instructor) Caitie is a US Sailing Instructor who has been instructing for us for several years and learned to sail with us at an early age. She is great fun, terrific with kids, super organized and is part of the Premier Sailing tradition. Caitie also is a Safe Powerboating and a J24 instructor and an EMT.

Ana (Senior Instructor) Ana is a US Sailing instructor and has been instructing with us for several years. She and all her siblings learned to sail at Premier Sailing. Ana has developed many lovely teaching aids for the school, is wonderful with young children, and loves to teach.

Robbie T. (Senior Instructor) has been with Premier Sailing for many years as student and then as instructor, and was our Program Director in Williamsburg for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Rob also is a Safe Powerboating and a J24 instructor. Rob is known for his genial personality and sense of humour.

Emily (Instructor) is a graduate of Premier Sailing and is a wonderful calm and collected instructor and loves to teach. Emily is a thorough and organized teacher.

Corey (Instructor) Corey is a US Sailing instructor. He is a graduate of Premier Sailing, loves to race lasers and loves to adventure sail his Bahia. Corey infuses his teaching with enthusiasm for latest developments in boating and adds the technical aspects of sailing and rigging to his teaching.

Daniel (Instructor) is a graduate of Premier Sailing, loves to race sunfish, lasers and J70s and brings this performance aspect to his teaching.

Sean (Instructor) is a graduate of Premier Sailing, loves to teach and generally mess about in boats, and is excellent with children.

Zoe (Instructor) Zoe is a US SAILING Instructor and is a graduate of Indian Creek Sailing program. She races on the Christchurch sailing team and is full of energy and enthusiasm for sailing and racing.

Andrew Andrew is a US Sailing Instructor and a graduate of the Indian Creek Sailing Program. He is a dedicated instructor who enjoys teaching children to sail.

Owen (Instructor) Owen is a terrific instructor who pours lots of energy into his teaching. He is an experienced small boat sailor and successful racer, having sailed in California and in New England.

Parker (Instructor) Parker is a graduate of the Indian Creek sailing program and sails for his high school varsity team. He is a dedicated and energetic instructor.

Matthew (Instructor) Matthew is a graduate of our sailing program at Two Rivers Yacht club in Williamsburg. He has been instructing for us first in Williamsburg and now in Irvington for some years now. Very empathetic, and very popular with our young sailors.
