This is our sailing school headquarters. The location of The Tides Inn makes it a truly wonderful location for a full service professional sailing school - the many sheltered areas of Carter Creek are ideal for kids sailing courses and beginner adult sunfish courses and the wide expanses of the Rappahannock River and the cruising grounds of the nearby Corrotoman provide ideal sailing waters for big boat sailing and for advanced sailing.
The Rappahannock River Yacht Club in Irvington lies close to the mouth of Carters Creek, just down the creek from Premier Sailing and the Tides Inn. The club opens its Junior Sailing Program to non-members to foster the sport of sailing and to encourage new families into the sport. Premier Sailing has been running this program for many years and many young RRYC members train as instructors with Premier Sailing. The fleet here includes Optimists and Sunfish and 420s.
We have been running the Indian Creek Yacht Club and Country Club sailing program since 2014. This program was founded more than twenty years ago by the club and has enjoyed a loyal following since then and has introduced many young people to sailing. This is a beautiful sailing location with good breezes coming in from the Chesapeake Bay and also lots of sheltered coves. The fleet here includes 420's, Optis and an American Sail 14'. The race training week here includes the chance to participate in the ICYCC Junior Regatta on the last day of the course.
Established in 1976, YPRCC welcomes new members for sailing and boating, socializing, and educational events amidst the beauty of Myer Creek off the Corrotoman. Since 2016, Premier Sailing has offered an annual Junior Sailing Program at this location which is greatly supported by members of the club and their families. Premier Sailing provides a varied fleet for this program and this includes Optimists and Sunfish and more.
