Adult Joining Instructions

Hours are 9.30 to 4pm each day.

What to bring and wear:

If you have your own lifejacket please bring that, otherwise we will provide. Bring a hat for the sun, sun block, and several bottles of water to drink, and lunch. Please carefully consider what you will need because your lesson can be ruined if you forgot to bring a jacket on a cold day or forget to bring your lunch, or forget a hat and sunglasses on a sunny day. Each person in the group should arrive fully prepared.

For Keelboat courses you will need non slip shoes with good ankle support (no open toe sandals)

For Dinghy courses you will need water shoes or tevaas or any shoes that can get wet. Ideal clothes are quick dry shorts, teeshirt, ball cap, lifejacket. You should also bring an entire change of clothing in case you capsize and don’t want to spend the entire day in those clothes

In the Spring and the Autumn you might need warmer clothes – definitely a good jacket, warm hat, some layers and a rain jacket. We will still go out if it is just sprinkling.

Directions:

Our office and classroom are at the old Tides Lodge which is where we start every morning.

Here are simple directions: From Irvington town drive north on 200 for about one mile. Then turn left on Christchuch Road. When you see the red brick church on your left take a left onto Gaskins Road. Drive past some housing then take a left onto St.Andrews Lane. Drive all the way to the end of this lane and into the parking lot and our building is right there.

The GPS address is 744 St.Andrews Lane, Weems, VA 22576 (but don’t drive all the way down into Weems – we are much closer to Irvington – near historic Christchurch – just giving you this address for gps use)

See you for sailing! Arabella
